At Lone Star, our mission is to never hear you say "if I only had known what to do..." The PetSaver™ course is designed to give pet owners, pet professionals, and anyone who loves pets the necessary skills to provide emergency care to their pets. Emphasis is on preventing illness or injury, but also on using emergency protocols so the pet can be stabilized and transported to a veterinarian or emergency clinic. Workshop activities are interactive. You will learn over 50 life-saving techniques by lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice (see pictures to the right). Live animals are not used during the class. You will learn how to complete both a wellness and injury assessment. These are both systematic and deliberate methods for evaluating and determining what's normal and not normal for your pet. Included in the class, you will receive the 40 page PetSaver™ First Aid & Care booklet and upon successful completion, each participant will receive a course completion certificate, emergency card and a wallet card. Lone Star Pet First Aid provides the 6-hour PetSaver class in both a public and private setting. Classes include an hour for lunch. Students may bring a lunch or choose to dine out. Public classes are scheduled at different locations each month at a cost of $99 per person. (check the schedule) Private classes may be scheduled for any group or organization of 5 students or more. Classes may be scheduled in meeting rooms, community centers, pet-related business facilities or even your home. (Ask about our requirements and restrictions) Price discounts for larger groups.
